OneHourNoPower
It’s up to you how much you get
involved in promoting the event. Here are some ideas that may help
you to get started.
- Copy the event email and
send to friends, colleagues and family.
- Make your own posters to display on your work, school
or club notice board. Put one in your window at home or in the car.
- Write to your local press, radio or television
news with your idea for how to spend One Hour No Power – the
wackier the idea the better. Just enter ‘How do I write a press
release?’ into any search
engine for loads of tips and guidance.
- Make a simple video of how you intend to spend
the hour and post to YouTube, MySpace or one of the other user generated
content sites. Don’t
forget to mention www.onehournopower.com and the event details.
- Make some leaflets and leaflet your street. Recycled
paper if possible.
- Promote One Hour No Power through you’re
blog or online community.
- Try to get your boss interested enough in One
Hour No Power to shut up shop for the hour. Remind them that ‘green’ credentials
are a big marketing tool these days!
- Tell your family/neighbours/bloke at the bus stop about
it.
- Design, make and wear in public a One Hour No Power
T-Shirt!
